Terence D • Piano Instructor

Terence is a pianist, jazz musician, educator, and composer based in Chicago, IL. He was raised in the western suburbs of Chicagoland, and is a recent graduate of the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY. At Eastman, Terence received a bachelors of music in jazz studies and music education. He was a member of the Eastman Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Bill Dobbins, with which he traveled to New York City to Participate in the Jack Rudin Contest held at the Lincoln Center in Manhattan. He also played in the Downbeat award winning Eastman New Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Dave Rivello. While in Rochester, Terence spent his Sunday mornings playing service music for several gospel music churches throughout the city.

 

As an educator, Terence has enjoyed teaching piano lessons and general music classes for students of all ages. Terence currently lives on the Northside of Chicago where he continues to perform as a freelance jazz musician and teach music classes and lessons.
