Our lessons are designed and tailored to the individual characteristics and learning styles of each student, and according to their goals and expectations. We offer private lessons in piano, guitar, ukulele, violin, viola, voice, percussion/drums, saxophone, clarinet, and flute, which can be 30, 45 or 60 minutes long, depending of the student's age, level, and/or aspirations. Our teachers prepare a customized well-rounded curriculum which incorporates music reading skills, appropriate technique development, in depth understanding of the theory of music and improvement of oral skills, and exposure to various music styles and repertoire. Establishing a practicing routine at home is though vital to the progress and success rate of every student.

Performing publicly often is very important in the well rounded development of a growing musician and an important practice motivator as well. Northside Music Academy organizes student recitals at least two to three times a year, where students will have the opportunity to perform prepared pieces of music in Edgebrook Community Church's beautiful sanctuary or other lovely venues surrounding the neighborhood. Other performing opportunities will also be available in professional venues around the city of Chicago like PianoForte's Recital Hall, Steinway Piano Galleries, Curtiss Hall in the Fine Arts Building and the Chicago Cultural Center downtown.
