Shihui Y • Piano Instructor

Born in China, Shihui Y. started her piano study at the age of four. In 2010, she came to the United States for her piano study. She received her Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from Oberlin Conservatory of Music, and her Master of Music degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from Northwestern University. During the years in the United States, she has studied piano with professors Alvin Chow, Alan Chow and Boris Slutsky. She has studied piano pedagogy with Dr. Marcia Bosits and music composition with Lewis Nielson.
 

Ms. Shihui has performed solo and chamber music at numerous venues such as Hong Kong Cultural Centre, Cleveland Museum of Art, Arts Club of Chicago, Harris Theater and Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Chicago. She is a fellow of classical music fellowship of Luminarts Cultural Foundation.
 

After graduating from Northwestern University, Ms. Shihui has been teaching students of all ages in Chicagoland. She has served as piano faculty of Wisconsin Conservatory of Music in 2018, and is piano faculty of Logos School of Music in Niles since 2022.


Ms. Shihui has been living in Chicago since 2015. She loves teaching and enjoys helping students reach their potential. She now lives with her husband and two children.
