Marissa H. is a strong believer in having fun. Working across Chicago as a private music instructor for over five years, she has worked with children from every age to pursue their musical dreams. Outside of teaching she has worked various positions from music directing the children's chorus with Cedar Summerstock Theater, to creating arts curriculum for the city of Germantown Tennessee. Throughout this, she has held on the belief that passion should be the leading force in education. She has worked to create an inclusive environment in her classroom, encouraging students to come out of their shells and engage with others. She believes in movement based learning and supporting students to think independently through music.
As a classical trained singer, she has received her Bachelor and Master's degree in Voice Performance. She has made a career of singing across Chicago with companies such as Bellissima Opera, Evanston Chamber Opera, Greenhouse Theater, Chicago Sinfonietta, and GIA Publishing . Outside of Chicago, she has worked with Opera Memphis, Utah Festival Opera, Victory Hall Opera, Opera Cecilia, MIOpera, Mousaverse Opera, and La Musica Lirica. Throughout her career she is known to many for her comedic interpretation and silvery coloratura voice.
